Devi Temples in India Allow Live Darshan of Goddesses
The current Navratri Festival is very
unique in that all of Shak Devi's teeth have been closed due to the ongoing
lockout nationwide.
Although the special Navratri ritual worship of the goddess
is led by internal priests, the devotees missed the joy of darshan they
expected during the festival.
Given the inability of the faithful to visit any devi shrine
in India, several temples now give live broadcasts of the worship and darshan
of the deities.
The Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine regularly
broadcasts daily cults, special rituals and live broadcasts of the deities
enshrined in the holy cave located on Trikuta Mountain in Katra, Jammu.
On the other hand, the Devi Sharda temple located in the
city of Maihar can have the darshan of the deity online on their mobiles and
laptops. However, in order to control the spread of the coronavirus, the Maihar
temple administration canceled the Navratri fair, which was to be held this
season.
Suresh Agarwal, magistrate of the Maihar subdivision, told
TOI that live television broadcasting was authorized as a measure to ensure
that the faithful could have darshan. So far, around 2,000 visitors have seen
the television broadcast on the official temple website. In addition, no one
has yet tested positive for coronavirus in the district of Maihar.
On the other hand, the administration of the district of UNA will direct the aarti of Devi Chintpurni online during Chaitra Navratri Mela.
The Chintpurni temple is one of the nine major sawtooth of Himachal Pradesh.
